This book would have been much better if either of the main characters were just a little bit interesting. A good premise spoiled by predictable writing. The main character, Melanie, deserved no empathy or sympathy until the very end, of course… Also, the Christian message didn’t fit with the plot – instead of enhancing the story, it just got in the way.

The story line was ok. A little boring, a little slow, but then a few chapters into it I realized this is just another one of the hidden Christian propaganda books. Amazon should start categorizing these books with religous content. The abstract does not mention anything about its religious slant. I know it was a free download, and if Christian books are your thing – then get the book (although the writing was a bit amatuerish) but buyer beware!!

Interesting concept, but the story fell short due to the elementary writing style and simple plot (if you could call it that). No depth or complexity to story line or writing style. Annoying characters…predictable…unlike real life.

The beginning of this book almost had me deleting it from my Kindle. I felt it poorly written and irritating rather than captivating. Persevering, the story became more interesting with all of the unforseen events that arose from a decision to seek a legacy for a dead child. I did like the emphasis on healing, forgiveness and doing the right thing.

Andie Phelps is the envy of Santa Barbara. A devoted mother with a loving son and a successful husband, her greatest joy comes from reaching out to others….

Melanie Johnston is the envy of no one. A single mom who works long hours to pay the bills, her greatest joys relate to her daughter and son.

Then the accident that changes everything. When opposite worlds collide, the impact reaches far beyond these mother’s personal losses.

Two wounded women….Two families seeking hope…A community torn apart…How far will they go to fulfill “A Promise to Remember”?
